Inspect an image translation at page scale

Use this Japanese before/after pair to compare the speech bubbles, large lettering and surrounding line art. When checking your own images, look beyond the presence of English: small text and the edges of cleared regions also deserve a closer look.

Choose an image format that keeps the text readable

The uploader accepts JPG/JPEG, PNG and WebP images. Use the clearest copy you already have. Converting a blurry screenshot to PNG changes the container, not the detail; repeated lossy saves can make thin strokes harder to read.

  • Crop browser controls or unrelated margins, but keep the dialogue and enough surrounding artwork to preserve scene context.
  • A batch supports up to 300 pages and 50 MB total. Each image must fit the 20 MB and 25-megapixel limits, as well as the detector segment limit for tall strips.
  • If an image is flagged, read its displayed warning. Compressing bytes will not reduce pixel count; resizing or manually splitting may be necessary.

Put loose images in order before pressing Translate

Selected images are naturally sorted by filename, so page2.jpg comes before page10.jpg. That rule cannot infer story order from unrelated screenshot names. Give pages a consistent numbered sequence before selecting them.

  • Inspect the thumbnails, then open an image in the local reader to check readability. Selecting files starts local inspection, not the translation upload.
  • Remove unwanted pages before confirming the quote. Each selected physical page costs one credit regardless of dimensions.
  • Use a first page with readable Japanese or Korean dialogue for automatic language detection. The output language is English.

Pick loose images, a PDF or one archive deliberately

Loose images are convenient when you need to inspect and remove individual pages. A PDF first becomes page images in your browser. A ZIP or CBZ is inspected as a single chapter archive and must be selected on its own.

  • For an archive, check the page sequence in the filenames before packing it. The archive's extracted image data must also fit the upload limit.
  • For a tall image, split between panels in an editor if it exceeds processing limits. There is no automatic upload splitter; each resulting image adds one page to the quote.
  • Review finished lettering before exporting CBZ, ZIP or PDF. Detection can miss handwritten or highly stylized text even when the source image is accepted.

Check speech bubbles, cleanup and lettering

The manga translator detects source text regions, clears the lettering and places English text back into the page. Bubble shape, small text and complex backgrounds affect the result. A translated image still needs a visual check before you save the chapter.

  • Compare each speech bubble with the source. Check whether the wording fits and whether thin strokes or small dialogue were missed.
  • Inspect the edges of cleared regions and lettering drawn over artwork. Stylized or handwritten sound effects may remain in the original language.
  • Read available translated pages in the browser before exporting. CBZ, ZIP and PDF exports include ready pages; they do not fill in pages that failed.

Questions about image selection, previews and credits

Can I read images before uploading?

Yes. Click a selected image preview to open the local reader; selecting files does not start the upload.

How much does one image cost?

Each physical page costs one credit, regardless of image dimensions. The quote appears before translation.

Can it translate text outside speech bubbles?

It can translate text regions the detector finds, including some lettering and effects outside speech bubbles. Handwritten, unusually shaped or highly stylized text can be missed. Review both the wording and the surrounding artwork before exporting.
