Question 1

What is MangaFluent?

Accepted Answer

MangaFluent is an online manga and manhwa translator. Upload a raw chapter and the AI detects every speech balloon, erases the original text, translates it, and typesets the translation back onto the page — ready to read in your browser or export as a CBZ for readers like Mihon.

Question 2

Which languages are supported?

Accepted Answer

Source language (Japanese or Korean) is auto-detected from the first page — you never have to pick it. Translations are available in English and Simplified Chinese.

Question 3

How does the translation work?

Accepted Answer

A vision AI model reads the full page: it verifies the recognized text against the artwork, understands who is speaking, and catches sound-effect nuance. The first page takes about a minute (the translation worker has to start up), then pages land in seconds. A chapter glossary keeps character names consistent throughout.

Question 4

What files can I upload?

Accepted Answer

Multiple images (JPG, PNG, WebP), a PDF, or a single ZIP/CBZ archive — up to 300 pages and 50 MB per chapter, with each page up to 20 MB and about 25 megapixels. Very tall webtoon strips should be split into segments before uploading. PDF pages are rasterized in your browser; the PDF file itself is never uploaded.

Question 5

Are my uploads private?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pages are stored only to run your translation and are deleted automatically within 24 hours. Jobs are tied to an anonymous browser session (or your account, if you're signed in), so only you can see them.

Question 6

How does the free trial work?

Accepted Answer

No account needed: you start with 5 free credits — the same currency paying users have, so that's about 5 pages with the full engine. When you sign in with Google you get 30 bonus credits (enough for a typical 20-page chapter), and paid plans start at $4.99 for 1,000 credits that never expire.

Question 7

Can I read a chapter locally without translating it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. After you drop files in, the preview grid doubles as a local reader — click any page to read the whole chapter fullscreen. Nothing is uploaded until you press Translate.
